EARLY ARTWORK

This spectacular artwork, dating from 1965 and/or early 1966, is attributed to Stanley Kubrick's talented team of artists and designers - Tony Masters, Harry Lange and Ernest Archer - though I do not know for sure who painted them.

Among other interesting variations on the final result is the fact that the alien artefact at this time, just visible in the Tycho excavation scene, was still represented as a pyramid, in line with Clarke's "The Sentinel".
