The Underview on 2001: Collectibles - Specials

Wedgwood ashtray
I wrote to Wedgwood for information about production of these ashtrays (above), but there was no response. Are they still allowed to make ashtrays?
Hamilton wrist watch
The "Odyssee 2001" (above) by noted watchmakers Hamilton is scarce and highly prized by watch collectors, especially complete in the original box like this one.
Frame snips
Selected frames (as above) cut from discarded prints of 2001 must be fairly common.
Monolith Jewelry
This jewelry (above) was inspired by the monolith from 2001 and produced by Wells Jewelry. Did anyone buy any?
Aries Pendant
A rare pendant (above) modelled on the Aries 1B spacecraft.
Spacewear
The ultimate 2001 collectibles (above), the only original helmet and overalls still known to exist. People who have attended 2001- related events over the years may well have seen these on display..
Gary models...
Gary (above) models the coveralls and watch. Come on, Gary, show us your monolith jewelry...
Dr David Stork shows off Hal's relics
Dr David Stork (above), author of "Hal's Legacy", nurses what little is left of Hal, and the key used by Dave to open up the brain room.
Reproduction Hal faceplate
A home-made Hal - origin unknown, but probably made from the now- obsolete Lunar Models kit.
2001 T Shirt
I'm not sure when these T shirts first appeared (above), they still occasionally turn up for sale.
The ugly Starchild
Kubrick and the Starchild
Cameron Dingler came across this curiosity (above left) in the back of a car at the local shopping mall. It is (or was), indeed, a reproduction Star Child. Although he had no trouble taking ownership of it, he was unable to find out any background information. Sadly, by the time he got it home it was in the condition apparent in these pictures. I have had no more contact with him, despite interest expressed by a number of people, and assume this must now be regarded as an ex- collectible.
Oh, that's not a real car, silly, it's a 1/24 scale model.
For comparison (above right), here is an earlier version giving Stanley Kubrick food for thought.
