number of promotional items (above): room cards, lobby display material and special check- out cards.

below), with adverts and articles aimed at what was presumably considered to be a young, relatively intelligent
audience.

Yes, it's true, Parker Pens did produce a pen (above) just like Heywood Floyd's. An atomic
pen, to boot, with a miniature power supply allowing a wide range of writing styles, and no doubt initiating
interesting long- term side- effects such as loss of writing hand. Not that it mattered, by Parker's own admission they
did not expect "to put this pen on sale until the next century". |
"Seventeen" magazine (below) produced several issues with 2001- based themes appealing to its fashion- conscious teenage audience. | |||
